Celtic’s tiny Tynecastle ticket allocation revealed

Celtic will be backed by just 576 supporters at Tynecastle later this month as the mad world of Scottish football continues to shoot itself in the foot at every opportunity.

This week cinch walked away from their sponsorship deal with the SPFL and that dispute that theRangers had with the league has ended up costing all the sides money that none of them (with the exception of Celtic) can afford to lose.

Last weekend that corner section of Fir Park's main stand was mostly unused and could easily have accommodated Celtic supporters as has happened so many times in the past, without any incidents or trouble.

Indeed that's where I was sitting on Black Sunday in 2005 when a title was thrown away and the Motherwell fans certainly enjoyed it.

But there was no trouble.

So many clubs - Kilmarnock for example - are happy to turn away paying customers and in doing so make the league less of a spectacle and less attractive to sponsors such as cinch or whoever might follow, no doubt at a bargain basement price.

That will see less money or no money at all coming through to these hard pressed clubs.

Hearts also have a deal in place with Hibs to provide each set of away fans a full stand each and that's what Celtic and theRangers supporters used to receive at both Edinburgh grounds.

Scottish football needs to re-set and get the game shown in the best possible light, with suitable agreements in place regarding away fans being admitted to all grounds.

What Celtic will do now is restrict Hearts to just 576 tickets the next time that they come to Celtic Park on league business.

It's self defeating and it needs to stop.

Good luck to the 576 Celtic supporters lucky enough to get a ticket to Tynecastle and of course to Brendan and the team on the day! Tickets for the #cinchpremiership away fixture vs.

Hearts Sunday 22nd October are now on sale to eligible Season Ticket holders.

The Club received an allocation of 576 tickets for this match.
