Rangers have secured a deadline day signing by bringing in Colombian winger Oscar Cortes from RC Lens. The 20yearold has joined on loan for the rest of the season as Rangers aim to compete for both domestic and European success. This move adds to manager Philippe Clement's three signings in January, including Fabio Silva and Mohamed Diomande.
The deal was finalized just hours before Thursday's transfer window closed at 11:30pm. As part of this agreement, Rangers have an option to buy Cortes when his loan term ends at the conclusion of this season.
Cortes has made four appearances for Ligue 1 side RC Lens this season and scored one goal against Stade Reims last year. He also holds one cap for Colombia after making his international debut last summer.
In response to joining Rangers, Cortes expressed his honor and privilege while emphasizing his excitement about playing alongside his new teammates. Meanwhile, manager Clement is thrilled with adding Cortez to their squad due to positive discussions they've had regarding how he can contribute towards achieving team goals.
Currently trailing Celtic by five points at top spot in Premiership standings but holding a game in hand over them, Ranger are still competing across three fronts Scottish Cup, Europa League included following victory earlier during endoflast year’s League Cup final win
Overall it seems like an exciting time ahead as we look forward seeing what impact these additions will make toward our ambitions moving into next stages competitively especially having secured another attacking threat like that through acquiring young talent such as promising starlet Oscar Cordoba who looks set play key role helping us go further than ever imagined previously possible within current campaign!
