Aberdeen are reportedly looking to activate Adama Sidibeh's PS500,000 release clause, with the Dons aiming to make their move ahead of their Premier Sports Cup clash against Queen's Park this weekend.

St Johnstone face Rangers at Hampden on Saturday in the League Cup last 16, and the Reds are looking to lure Craig Levein's prize asset north in their search for a replacement for the outgoing Bojan Miovski.

Several clubs are expected to watch Sidibeh in action this weekend however, with the likes of Sheffield United and Queens Park Rangers keeping tabs on the forward ahead of transfer deadline day, reports Football Insider.

The Perth Saints are reportedly aware of the demand for the 26-year-old, but his stay at McDiarmid Park would be brought to an end should his release clause be triggered.

Sidibeh has become a key part of the St Johnstone side, netting a double in last weekend's 3-0 win over Kilmarnock to take his tally to nine goals in 14 outings since being signed from non-league Rylands in January.

He was also instrumental in saving the Perthshire club from relegation last season, scoring five goals in eight outings to keep the 2021 cup double winners up while attraction attention from across England and Europe.

The striker's form rewarded him with an international debut for Gambia earlier this summer as they beat Seychelles 5-1 in a World Cup qualifier.

Interest comes with Aberdeen set to secure a club-record transfer fee for Miovski, with the club looking to replace his goals which the North Macedonia international bagged 26 of last season.

His sale to Girona is expected to surpass the PS6.

5million Aberdeen received for Calvin Ramsay, but his 44 goals in 97 appearances will be a tough act to follow.
