An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Atletico Madrid has today departed for England, ahead of putting pen to paper on terms with Chelsea.
The player in question? Samu Omorodion.
The name of frontman Omorodion has of course taken its place front and centre in the Spanish media headlines over the course of the last week.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the 20-year-old was the subject of increasingly intense transfer talks between Atleti, and Premier League heavyweights Chelsea.
Amid the former's negotiations for Conor Gallagher, the Chelsea board made use of the opportunity to make clear their interest in Omorodion.
And, after an agreement was reached on a fee in the region of PS34.
5 million, the Olympic champion, today, flew out to London.
As much has been confirmed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards the 'formal steps' of the move as being pencilled in for the coming days.
Omorodion will put pen to paper on a contract at Stamford Bridge through the summer of 2031.
