An insight into the plans of the powers that be at Atletico Madrid to replace Angel Correa has been provided late this afternoon.
The name of attacker Correa has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Madrid over the last 48 hours.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the Argentine is the subject of intense interest by way of the Saudi Pro League.
Something of a bit-part player in Spain's capital, Correa himself is in turn understood to be keen on the move, with Diego Simeone and the Atletico brass also open to the prospect of the 28-year-old moving on.
Any such departure for Correa, however, will be dependent on the Rojiblancos sourcing a replacement frontman before the month is out.
To this point, a whole host of players have been tipped to fill this role, with Atlanta United talent Thiago Almada known to sit high on the wishlist of Simeone and co.
EXCLUSIVE: Thiago Almada is one of the top names on Atletico Madrid list in case Angel Correa will leave the club.
Al Ittihad will approach Atleti for Correa and Thiago Almada has always been appreciated by Atleti.
His name is very high on club's list.

As per a report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Juventus star Moise Kean has made his way onto the radar of the capital heavyweights.
Hitman Kean is a man in demand this winter, amid an ongoing struggle for a consistent run of starts in Turin.
In Italy, the likes of Monza and Fiorentina are said to be considering loan proposals for his services.
But Atletico, it is added, are also in the race, ready to make first contacts with their counterparts at Juventus over the coming days.
