Arsenal loan latest with update on potential return for Kieran Tierney
Source:Football

The past week has provided clarity over Kieran Tierney.

The left-back is one of several Arsenal players out on loan currently, but he missed Real Sociedad's Champions League clash with Red Bull Salzburg and the La Liga meeting with Atletico Madrid with a hamstring injury.

Although amid fears the Scotland international - who has not been named by Steve Clarke in the squad for the double-header with Spain and France - could be sidelined for up to three months with a grade three tear, Sociedad boss Imanol Alguacil has revealed there is no timescale for the 26-year-old's return.

"It is a significant thigh tear, but nothing extraordinary," he told MD, as per Football Espana.

"What I always say, each player is different and so is the recovery time.

Time will tell when he will return, it is the typical breakage that is difficult to recover from, but I hope to have him as soon as possible.

"Along with Tierney, nor Nuno Tavares, Marquinhos, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Runar Alex Runarsson, Brian Okonkwo, Alex Kirk, Mika Biereth, Tyreece John-Jules, Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Kido Taylor-Hart and Henry Jeffcott featured for their respective clubs over the course of the past week either meaning it's been rather quiet for Arsenal's loanees.

However, Charlie Patino continues to play his role in Swansea City's surge up the Championship table.

The midfielder started both wins over Norwich City and Plymouth helping Michael Duff's side go into the international break sitting in 12th place and three points off a play-off spot.

Meanwhile, a couple of places back - but level on points - are Brooke Norton-Cuffy's Millwall.

The youngster made a substitute appearance on Tuesday night as the Lions also recorded a win at Home Park and came off the bench again at the weekend in the 2-2 draw against Hull City.

Arthur Okonkwo has a strong case for the big winner from Arsenal's loan army over the past week.

On his second League Two appearance for Wrexham, he - as described by the BBC 'produced an inspired display' to keep a clean sheet against Mansfield Town before claiming another four days later in the 1-0 win over Crawley Town.

"I am really happy," he said, as per the Leader.

"It is my first clean sheet for Wrexham in the league.

We were defending quite a lot, I am happy and relieved that I could make those saves.

I just want to contribute to the team as much as I can and help the team as much as I can.

"Elsewhere in England, Omar Rekik can't catch a break after featuring in back-to-back losses for Wigan Athletic, the same applies to Mauro Bandiera as he made substitute appearances as Colchester United went zero for six while and Billy Vigar had a mixed week having featured in a 6-0 win for Eastbourne Borough as well as a 3-2 loss.

Catalin Cirjan has recently got back in favour at Rapid Bucharest and he was an 87th-minute substitute in their 3-2 win over Politehnica Iasi.
