Matt Taylor met with the press following today's defeat away at Blackpool.

Salop fell to a 4-0 loss at Bloomfield Road. A brace from Jake Beesley together with a Jordan Rhodes penalty and Kyle Joseph strike saw the Tangerines to victory.

Shrewsbury had chances with Tom Bayliss and Dan Udoh going close before the former had to leave the pitch with injury just before half-time.

And when speaking to the assembled media, Matt described the result as unacceptable.

On the game:

"It is an unacceptable result.

"The goals that we have given away, without having the time to go back over them, are not anywhere near good enough.

"We have got to get back to the clean sheet mentality that we had earlier in the season.

"We have got to be better away from home. Fact. Accept full responsibility on behalf of the football club for the result. It is not good enough.

"More than 850 of our fans have spent their money to come and watch us today, and for us to put in a performance like that is nowhere near acceptable."

On the goals conceded:

"It's not good enough. I think we can accept being beaten by a team that has had to work really hard for their goals but that has not been the case tonight so it is extremely disappointing."

On our attacking threat:

"You are always going to want more, it is a difficult place to come.

"But what you cannot do is come here and make it easy for the opposition and that is what we have done today."

On Tom Bayliss coming off injured:

"He is in a boot at the moment, I think he is going to go for an X-ray, but the initial signs do not look great, but we won't no anymore for another couple of days.

"Tom has been pretty much an ever-present in the team this season so to compound the misery in the result today it looks as if we might lose Tom for a period of time."

On the away form:

"It is not good enough. We will look at that. I will tell you one thing we will be putting that right come Monday when the players are in, I can tell you that for nothing.

"I have been on the end of results like this myself as a player but the most important thing is that everyone reflects openly and honestly and that is what we will do. You cannot do it anymore.

"The thing is, as much as we want to try and affect the result today, we can't - it has gone.

"So we have to make sure, and we will make sure, mark my words, that we are better away from home the next time we play and it is not at our stadium."
