While eyebrows were raised when we paid an initial PS32M to Southampton for right-back Tino Livramento, the three games he has started for Newcastle have all resulted in him being our Man of the Match.

This lad is destined to be a great player for Newcastle and for England and with PS8M in add-ons - PS40M now looks cheap for a player who looks like first-team material now - even though he just turned 21 earlier this month.

It turns out that Tino started his career as a right winger at the Chelsea Academy and was later moved to right-back.

And now that we have 10 players out injured, half of which are long-term, and Tonali banned for the season, Tino will likely get a chance to shine again in the first team.

Tino was used as a right winger recently and looked good at Borussia Dortmund where we were beaten 2-0 in the Champions League.

This is what Eddie Howe has said about the 7 times-capped England U21 International:

"I wouldn't have said at the start of the season that pushing Livramento up was something necessarily I'd have looked to play, but my hands have been forced to a degree."

"Tino has played in that role before - that's where he started at Chelsea, that was his position before moving backward to right-back."

"But I thought he did okay there. He probably performed better in his normal full-back role, but it has been a case of trying to manage the minutes of everyone in the squad and trying to give us a fresh team."

The excellent form of Tino has forced Eddie Howe to look at how best to play him during this time when we have so many injuries.

Lewis Hall is on a loan with an obligation for Newcastle to buy him next summer, so he cannot play in our next game at home to his former (current?) club Chelsea.

One thing Howe can do is move Kieran Trippier to the left back.

Trippier played right back for England against Malta (England won 2-0) last night in the first half, and then went to left back in the second half to accommodate Kyle Walker at right back.

So Kieran can play on either side as full-back and he's played at left-back a few times for England.

So maybe a week today, Tino could be brought in at right-back against his former club Chelsea?

Tino looks so good at full-back and his man-marking is superb - it's very difficult to get past him down the wing.

We'd like to see Tino get more chances during the injury crisis we have at the moment at Newcastle.
